Islamabad: The United Arab Emirates charities have been providing various humanitarian assistance activities throughout Pakistan for many years.
In compliance with the directives of the His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of UAE and to celebrate the true spirits of the holy month of Ramadan, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Charity Foundation and the Red Crescent Authority are hosting Iftari programs at large scale for the underprivileged segments of the society in different places of Pakistan. The Iftari programs are blessings for people struggling to meet some of their essential needs.
This year too, both the organizations have been initiating a Ramadan program. They distributed 50 tons of dates to the poor and prepared ready-made meals to the needy and unfortunate families since the eve of Ramadan. All these Iftari programs are being supervised by the Embassy of UAE in Islamabad with the collaboration of the social welfare local authorities and renowned NGOS. The iftari meals are well served to orphanages, widows, old homes, social welfare centers, schools and colleges for blinds & special children, and the last but not the least poor families.
Authorities of the social welfare departments expressed their appreciation for this comprehensive and continuous humanitarian and noble works which bring some relief and sign of hope and comfort in the life of the distressed people. Officials hope other organizations may follow the example of the UAE.
During the 2nd week of Ramadan, the UAE Embassy organized series of iftari meals for the students of International Islamic University, Islamabad, trade training centre of the establishment division, Hassan Academy for special education, Rawalpindi and poor families in Khanna pul. More than ten thousands people attended these iftari programs. The principal of Trade Training Centre Sajjad Hyder Chaudhry paid homage to the President of UAE Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and on behalf of the centre thanked the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan charity Foundation and the Red Crescent Authority for their strenuous efforts by providing humanitarian aid to the people in difficult times.
Dr. Ahmed Hassan, the principal of Hassan Academy for special education said that these ongoing welfare projects are only an extension to the foundation laid down by founder of the UAE late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. His mega and diversified social welfare projects are at best service to common people everywhere in Pakistan.
The students and poor families highly valued these iftari programs and wished for the continuation of these humanitarian programs.
