Islamabad: Sheikh Khalifa Charity Foundation and UAE Red Crescent have been generously funded Iftari programs in the country under the directives and special guidance of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of UAE. Both the organizations arrange these Iftari programs on annual basis with the cooperation of the Social Welfare authorities in Pakistan. These Iftaris are organized for the needy, poor people and marginalized communities during holy month in Muslim countries around the globe. The arrangement and supervision of Iftari programs are assigned to the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates
The Iftari programs have already been hosted at many social welfare centers, SOS village, orphanage houses, community centers, educational institutions, etc. in the country. Iftari programs were organized at Faizul Islam Anjuman, SOS Village, Kashana orphanage, Community Center, International Islamic University in Islamabad and distribution of ready meals to poor families nearby villages. In total more than 50,000 people benefited from these programs. The meals included dates, juices, fruit, and a main meal of rice, chicken and Kabab. These Iftari programs reflected the true spirits of humanity, munificence and sympathy on the part of UAE political leadership, stated by the concerned authorities.
The authorities told that these gestures of caring and sharing would be healthy for the psychological association and growth of the orphan children in the days to come. They hoped that these Iftari programs would open new window of cooperation and better understanding between the local charitable organizations, centers and institutions with the global organizations such as Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Charity Foundation and UAE Red Crescent Authority.
High officials and personnel in charge of these social welfare organizations/centers/institutions cherished these humanitarian activities especially the Iftari programs for the poor and the needy. They expressed their thanks and gratitude to the UAE leadership, the charitable organizations and the UAE embassy and this noble cause which brings comfort and happiness in the lives of marginalized communities.
They stressed the need to have closer levels of cooperation and collaboration between the local welfare organizations and UAE charities for the greater welfare of the neglected people in the country. They emphasized that local people and charitable organizations must take some lesson from the UAE for this philanthropy.
They extended good wishes for greater socio-economic prosperity of the UAE and its brotherly people. The orphanages children especially prayed for health and long life of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of UAE.
